Welcome
Welcome to our application website! The hiring process detailed below is for teachers for the 2019-2020 school year.

Maureen Joy engages in a rigorous, multi-step interview process that provides prospective candidates the opportunity to get to know our school better. See below for an overview of our application and hiring process.

Please note: Maureen Joy does NOT accept applications via email, but we do allow candidates to fill out paper applications if you drop by our school to obtain one in the front office.

Our Teacher Recruitment and Selection Committee meets biweekly to review applications, so expect to receive a response from us within two weeks of submitting your application.

If you have any questions, please email teach@joycharter.org.

Step 1. Submit an online application

We accept applications on a rolling basis, and we process applications every two weeks as we receive them. To begin a new application, choose a job from the available listings below. On this page you will be prompted to create an online profile, complete our teaching application, and upload a copy of your most recent resume. NOTE: Please do NOT submit letters written by your references. You may just supply your references' contact information, and we will reach out to them if you move to the interview stage.

After your information is complete, you will receive a confirmation number, and your information will be saved allowing you to return at any time to submit additional applications.

Please be sure and remember your username and password for use on future applications.

Step 2. Phone Interview

Applicants invited to the next stage of the process will engage in a 30-45 minute video interview with a member of our Teacher Recruitment and Selection Team. After you submit your application, you will receive an email within two weeks to let you know if you have been selected for a phone interview. We may also request a video of you teaching after the phone interview.

Step 3. On-Campus Interview & Live Demo Lesson

After the phone interview, selected applicants will be invited to an in-person interview at our campus. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to tour around our school, observe classroom instruction, speak with members of our staff, and conduct a 30-minute lesson with our students using an objective we provide. After the lesson, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your lesson with the Instructional Leadership Team, receive some feedback, and engage in a conversation about your fit at our school. For long-distance candidates, we will reimburse you for part of your travel costs.

Step 4. Reference Check

On your online application, you will be asked to submit three references with whom you are comfortable having us speak regarding your past professional experience. After the on-campus interview, we will notify you if we plan to reach out to your references for additional information before an offer is made.
